Have you ever seen a race between an accordionist turtle and a virtuoso clarinettist hare?

« Sur un arbre perché » offers to both its younger and older audience members the chance to rediscover seven of Jean de La Fontaine's famous Fables by subtly mixing text, music and movement.

The performers take on the double role of musician and actor; and the music thus set in motion becomes alive and understandable. Prokofiev, Bizet and Debussy are in the limelight, but not only, as we also see the Goose that laid the golden eggs waddle along to Poulenc's Sonate pour clarinette, the cicada lament to the melody of Bartók's Romanian Folk Dances, and Master Crow sing Corelli's Follia!

Inspired by the rhythmic method of Genevan musician and pedagogue Emile Jacques-Dalcroze, the staging of each fable creates a small universe of 4 to 7 minutes which is all at once funny, crazy, cheeky, provocative, poetic and dreamy. Let yourself be enchanted!
