On the occasion of World Water Day, we will have the opportunity to attend this magnificent show brought to us by the quartet Terpsycordes.
Michael is bored to death, yet his room is full of toys. He asks his mother to tell him a story. She suggests that while he plays with his toys, she'll draw inspiration from his game to invent a story.
Thus a wonderful story begins as mother and son, music and story, join hands to create wonderful images. Each new toy is evoked by a new tune and moves the tale forward in a story that is as beautiful and full of surprise as the One Thousand and One Nights.
Originally, "Halef der Wasserverkëufer" is a tale written by German author Eckart zur Nieden for the piano Suite for children op. 57 (1923) by Joseph Achron. This suite is made of twenty sections, each inspired by different toys.
The storyteller, the string quartet, the piano and the clarinet take their audience on an adventure where soap bubbles, an emir, a monkey and a princess rub shoulders...
