INTERNATIONAL PEACE DAY
21 September 2017 from 16:30 to 19:30
Centre des arts, La Grande Boissière
"Since wars begin in the minds of men, it is in the minds of men that the defence of peace must be constructed."
Resolution A/RES/36/67 of the UN General Assembly, 30 November 1981.
Every year since 1981, the International Day of Peace, established by the United Nations, invites people all over the world to remember their shared humanity and work together to build a future without conflict.
All across the world, ceasefires are called in combat zones, and many countries respect this resolution and suspend all hostilities on 21 September.
On this occasion, everyone can reflect on their commitment to peace and participate in the promotion of this cause, which remains a global priority.
Created by civil servants of the League of Nations, the International School of Geneva carries in its DNA, in its mission and in its teaching, values that are essential to peace: respect, acceptance of differences, openness to others and dialogue.
In order to meet and celebrate these principles of education and life, the Centre des arts invites you to raise your glass together, accompanied by speeches, a musical interlude and an aperitif. Discover our programme.
