Théâtre en français

Mondays, 16:45-18:30 / Theatre
The primary objective of this course is to explore the bases of the world of acting. We will develop diction, body movement, gestures, as well as improvisation and text analysis, by working on short scenes and extracts of major plays from modern and contemporary theatre. The course will also help build self-confidence, as much on stage as in everyday life. We will explore monologues, two and multiple character scenes, both comical and tragic. We will create a trusted group, ready to invest itself collectively on a theatrical project. The aim of this group will be to produce two plays before the end of the school year. We will not hold formal auditions. Instead, roles will be assigned based on motivation, engagement, behaviour and personal involvement. Timeliness and regular attendance will also be taken into account. This year, students will work on two small-scale theatrical productions which will be staged in January/February 2018 and May 2018.
