Percussion Ensemble

Open to students in year 1 to year 3

The Primary Percussion Ensemble meets on a weekly basis and focuses on playing xylophone, glockenspiel and small drum instruments from around the world.
 

Sing & Strum Group

Open to students in year 3 to year 13

Sing & Strum is open to all students who wish to learn how to play basic chords on the guitar and accompany themselves while singing in the folk/pop guitar tradition. Students are placed according to their level and age. And meet on a weekly basis. All students must have a guitar.
 

String Ensembles 

String Ensembles are open to advanced beginner and intermediate string students. Designed to provide students with the basic skills needed to perform in an ensemble, these classes meet on a weekly basis with a performance presented at the end of each term.

Brass Ensemble

Brass Ensemble is open to advanced beginner and intermediate brass students, and is designed to prepare the student with the basic ensemble skills through working on varied repertoire of classical, jazz and pop music. Up to three rehearsal dates are scheduled at the start of term followed by a Music School concert performance.
 

Rock Band 

Open to Middle School students who are studying an instrument

Led by Music School staff member Julio d’Santiago, students in a free and open setting will work as a band exploring how to play together through classic rock repertoire.
 

Rock/Jazz Band

Open to all secondary students
Mondays, 17:00
1 hour 20 minutes
Teacher: Julio D'Santiago
 
Led by Music School staff member Julio D’Santiago, students in a free and open setting will work as a band exploring how to play together through classic and contemporary rock ballades and jazz standards.
 

Cello Ensemble

Open to Music School students

With a focus on traditional repertoire, the cello ensemble works on the important skills needed to become a strong ensemble player. Up to three rehearsal dates are scheduled at the start of each term.
