Beginning Music Theory Years 1-2

Open to Ecolint participants aged 5-6 already enrolled in the Music School.
Thursdays, 15:05-15:45 / Room TBC
 
Beginning Music Theory class reinforces note and rhythm reading skills. Classes are taught using both french and english terms for note reading.

ABRSM Theory – Tutoring Levels 1-3

Open to Ecolint participants aged 5+ already enrolled in the Music School.
Wednesdays, 15:30-16:15 / Room TBC
 
Private or shared weekly theory lessons preparing students for the Associated Board Royal School of Music Theory Exams. As instrumental skills progress, development in music theory and musicianship becomes increasingly important in helping students to perform with sensitivity, understanding and confidence.
 
ABRSM’s Music Theory exams aim to give students a thorough understanding of the building blocks of music, starting with the basics of rhythm and notes, and going on to cover harmony and counterpoint, composition, and broad knowledge of western music, including composers and their works, structure, style and period.

Solfège

Open to Ecolint participants aged 5+ already enrolled in the Music School.

Private or shared weekly classes of 30 minutes to 1 hour provide theoretical support in the study of an instrument. Music theory (or musical training) is the study of technical elements in learning to read, write or sing a music score.
