Welcome to the Centre des arts.

Inaugurated on 1st September 2014, the Centre des arts, located in the heart of La Grande Boissière's park within the grounds of the International School of Geneva, opens its doors to the public as of 12 September with a programme of dance, music, theatre and contemporary art.

The Centre des arts is pleased to join the cultural offer of French-speaking Switzerland by opening its doors to the public for most of its events.

Designed by architects Willmote & Associates, the Centre des arts is equipped with an Auditorium that seats 400, as well as a Theatre with 155 seats. Designed to develop artistic creation, pluridisciplinarity and cultural research, the building also includes a dance studio, a recording studio and a drama studio.

While today's world is shocked by ongoing conflicts and questions how humanity will evolve, the International School of Geneva has the will to put art and culture at the center of education in order to encourage creativity and the use of art as a tool for peace and cultural transversality. Through the transmission of knowledge, students benefit from an artistic education allowing various partnerships between artists, students and teachers. It is clear that the ability to say, feel and place oneself in relation to others and to the world is part of the foundation of the knowledge, skills and abilities that today's youth must rely upon to develop critical thinking, self-confidence and open-mindedness.

At the heart of the learning process, the Centre des arts works closely with students and teachers of the International School of Geneva to explore the roles that passion and art can play in education, all the while encouraging communities and students to engage and open up to the world.

It is with this idea in mind that the Centre des arts programme, developed in close collaboration with the different pedagogical actors of the International School of Geneva, has been thought up.

The events of this season are open to the public and international community, with various themes linked to current events, educational values and multicultural diversity.
