The Youth Underground in collaboration with The CNN Freedom Day project
I would like to introduce you to Youth Underground, a nonprofit Swiss-based international association representing the voice of the youth for a world without human trafficking – and the largest non-UN global youth association dedicated to addressing the issue of human trafficking and human rights as a whole. Youth Underground carries out its activities by organizing youth educational and awareness-raising activities to gain momentum for their cause, ensuring that through these, the youth are able to express themselves in their own words, in their own way, to their own audiences.
Youth Underground have partnered with CNN for a youth-based anti-human trafficking project entitled, “My Freedom Day”– which will culminate in an event hosted by Ecolint on 14 March from 18:00-20:00, at the Arts Centre. My Freedom Day is a global project intended to make people, especially students, realize how fortunate they are to be free. At the same time, it is designed to raise awareness about human trafficking – which happens all over the world. CNN already has a blog with short videos and pictures of Ecolint and other students wearing the Youth Underground T-shirts.
The T-shirts themselves are fair trade and slavery free. They are a call to action and represent respect for human rights, dignity and integrity.
On the actual “Freedom Day”, CNN anchors will be broadcasting youth groups live from all over the world throughout the day, and will be doing the same with us here in Geneva, Switzerland. The only condition required for attending is to wear a Youth Underground T-shirt, which are sold as of now at the Arts Centre or via email@example.com or on the Youth Undergound website online.

"Dirty Gold War" from Daniel Schweizer et "Etats-Unis, le Nouvel Apartheid" from Romain Icard
DIRTY GOLD WAR
Dirty Gold War is a trip behind the scenes of a thriving industry. On one side, the displays of luxury goods; on the other, the appalling conditions of those cursed by dirty gold. From mine to window display, extreme misery to luxury brands and big banks, it follows the course of the “gold trail”. From South America to Switzerland, the country that refines and fashions the major part of the world’s dirty gold into bars. This film puts a little-known reality into perspective and reveals important issues about a gold rush that is continuing in the 21st century, in silence and indifference, regardless of the interests of indigenous peoples. Dirty Gold War is a documentary directed by Daniel Schweizer, a Swiss author and filmmaker.
